Concert Reviews
... Fine polished chamber music! The Duo :nota bene: presented sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven and it is tempting to say they brought some kind of special Austrian insight to this pieces.
Mozart's KV 296 and Beethoven's op 30/1 where played with terrific poise and focus. It seemed to me to be the slow movements where this focus was at its most powerful, with admirable assurance and control of timing. The Beethoven particularly had a rare intensity.
It was fine chamber music, a little cool and deliberate perhaps, but always extremely polished.
